Innovative power in action

Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) has been setting standards since 2021: the BIM method is not only mandatory for real estate, but also for infrastructure facilities from 2025. SBB is thus pushing ahead with the Federal Council's digital goals at full speed.

What is stated on the SBB website is not just an empty promise - we can confirm this from our own experience. Step by step, existing buildings are being digitized and real estate and infrastructure facilities are being prepared in 3D. We would like to share some insights from our joint projects in the Swiss sunshine region of Ticino with you.

Station buildings and goods sheds were captured with precision using laser scanners and modeled as 3D ArchiCAD models. Now it's no longer just about data on the screen - the models are actively handed over to architects and SBB project managers to initiate the next phase of design.
